In this fast-paced world where everyone is busy with their jobs, it’s hard to stop for a bit and appreciate all the good things in your life.
Most of the time people are too wrapped in different problems that they forget to count their blessings.
Here are 5 things to help you have an attitude of gratitude:
Don’t Be Picky
Being grateful should not mean that you only appreciate the big things in life. You can’t be picky about which things to be grateful for because everything in life is a blessing whether it’s obvious or in a disguise. As children, we would be happy even for the tiniest of things but as we grow up we started to compartmentalize things into categories and stopped being grateful for everything. You need to be thankful and appreciative for everything no matter how big or small it is.
Be Grateful for The Challenges
You don’t grow as a person if you are not facing challenges on a regular basis. People usually whine and complain if they are facing something tough in their lives. If you are going through a rough period then you need to take a step back and ask yourself, what lesson can you learn from this challenge? Why is it here? This way you will also find the solutions to your problems easily and become a stronger person in the process.
Keep a Gratitude Journal
Nothing can be more therapeutic than journaling. It provides
Volunteer
They say if you want to be grateful for the blessings you have in life, you need to look around and see the misfortunes of others. Doing volunteer work will not only make you help others but it will also make you be thankful for the things you have that others don’t. Go visit an orphanage, children’s hospital or a nursing home to make someone’s day. It will be a win-win situation for you and others.
Spend Time with Your Loved Ones
Family and friends are the real wealth one can acquire in life. Value them by spending time with them. Even if you are super busy, it doesn’t take much to take some time and spend it together. Make family vacations a regular thing and hangouts with friends a norm. Tell them how much you appreciate them and make sure to give them thoughtful gifts on special occasions. This also includes play and cuddle time with your pets.
Gratefulness, like other habits, is also something to work on. Don’t worry if you are not super thankful today, eventually
thank you for posting. this is wonderful and true words and practices to live by.
